Jordan & Pilgrimage
Jordan has a rich Christian legacy and welcomes pilgrims from all parts of the world. The archaeological evidence from the Baptism site at Bethany Beyond the Jordan shows that it was visited by thousands of early Christian converts in the first 300 years after the Crucifixtion of Christ. At this place, located in the desert where John the Baptist lived, pilgrims can reflect on the true meaning and significance of Christ‘s Baptism.
Pilgrims also visit Mt Nebo, where Moses first viewed the Promised Land, and Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map. Of course a tour of Petra is recommended for any visitor to Jordan.
